I was rummaging through my inbox to look for a friend’s e-mail when I came across an old spam. It takes you back in college when you were entertaining thoughts of dropping out to be a part of a band. Only that, here, it will just make you come up with your own album cover and not exactly a million worth of songs. Regardless, that’s close enough, right? Needing to pass time badly, I finally did it and man, was it fun. Go ahead, try it out.
1. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page and click on “Random Article.” The first random Wiki article you get is your band’s name.
2. Go to http://quotationspage.com and click on ”Random Quotes.” You have the option to pick only the last few words of the last quote on the site or choose the whole quotation. It doesn’t matter as long as you select the very last quote. The quote/set of words will be the title of your album.
3. Go to http://www.flickr.com/explore and click on “Interesting photos from the last seven days.” The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4. Put them all together and be surprised with your work of art!
Mine ended up as a beautiful piece of haphazardness. My band’s name, Behave Yourself is a 1961 British short comedy movie. The cover, touch, is uploaded by Rae, and the title from Trey Parker and Matt Stone speaks for itself.
So cheesy. Cringe. Shiver. LOL.
Interesting. Mine is weird. cover: picture of a rabit, title: love is everywhere and my band’s name is SRAW (a canon digital camera small raw file or it can also be Short Range Assault Weapon. Cool.
